The Story of Maguire |

Poor Maguire had been neglected for a very long time before he came into rescue. Unfortunately, he came into rescue with a perineal hernia, and a very dirty mouth. His vet believes he had this hernia for a very long time (over a year)…………..
“A perineal hernia is a condition that occurs in both dogs and cats in which there is an abnormal displacement of pelvic and/or abdominal organs (small intestine, rectum, prostate, bladder, or fat) into the region around the anus called the perineum. This condition occurs secondary to a weakening of the muscles, which form the pelvic diaphragm. Signs of this problem include straining to urinate or have bowel movements, constipation, and swelling around the anal region.”
Here is Maguire’s story, in the words of his rescuer. As you read these words, imagine how much pain he has been in, for a very long time….
“He is a very sweet, gentle dog. Adjusted immediately into my household (foster home) with my other dogs (4). Corgi, Corgi/Doxie, Doxie and Brittany/Basset mix.
“Maguire is a doll. Incredibly sweet, playful, (loves squeaky toys and loves loves to chase water out of the garden hose). His knows Sit, Down, Stay, walks well on a leash, gets along great with other dogs, and my resident cats.”
Maguire has had surgery to repair his poor sad rear end, and has had oral surgery to help his mouth be clean and healthy.
CorgiAid supporters have made it possible for Maguire get the care he needs to help him get ready to move on into a happy life. Thank you!
Maguire was rescued in California.
