The Story of Marmalade

Last Updated: August 03, 2014

Rescuer: B. Diane Myers at ccrescue@dogsweetdog.com

Here is Marmalade’s story, in the words of her rescuer:
“I was contacted via Facebook by an all-breed rescuer about a ‘corgi with pups in an rural abandoned house.’ The story was that a neighbor a mile away was feeding them and had been feeding the corgi for a couple of months. I didn’t have pictures, but felt like we should go ahead and commit. Marmalade arrived with her three babies (Muffin, Bagel and Jelly) whose daddy was NOT a corgi. She and her babies were covered in fleas and ticks, and she has a severe ear infection. She is a very friendly happy girl who is grateful for 2 square meals, a nice warm bed and food for the babies who are now about 6 weeks old and weaning. Marmalade needs spayed, checked for all the necessary evils and some extensive work on her mouth. For some reason all her front teeth are broken off at the gumline. Perhaps chewing herself out of something?”
CorgiAid supporters have helped Marmalade get up to speed on her health care (including a clean and healthy mouth), so she can go forward into the happy life she deserves. Thank you!
It was later determined that Marmalade had luxating patellas in both legs. CorgiAid supporters are helping Marmalade get the surgery she needs to be as mobile and comfortable as possible. Thank you!
Marmalade was rescued in Oklahoma.

This dog is available for adoption. Please contact B. Diane Myers at ccrescue@dogsweetdog.com for more information.
