The Story of Mino

Last Updated: January 19, 2015

Rescuer: Tessa Kirsch at Tessaki98@gmail.com

Here’s Mino’s story, in the words of her rescuer:
“Mino was listed on Craigslist. It was brought to our attention through the Corgi pages on FB. Her rehoming fee was $100. We picked her up in a Wal-Mart parking lot.
“She needs all of her vaccines. We took her to the vet as it appears she has had many litters of puppies and she is obese. An X-ray was done and she is not pregnant, but obese. Recheck in a week to ensure no pregnancy and to administer vaccines and discuss spaying options.
“She is weak in the backend and we will need to check for DM potentially and/or X-rays for arthritis etc. to see why she is weak. We have her on a strict diet to try to reduce her weight. That should help significantly. Her ad said she was 5, but the vet said no less than 7 years old. Mino’s teeth are in horrible shape and she will need a deep cleaning at some point. She did test heart worm negative – that is great news! All of the other bloodwork came back within normal ranges.”
CorgiAid supporters have helped Mino with the health care she needs as she gets ready for the next happy chapter of her life, including a clean and healthy mouth. Thank you!
Mino was rescued in Iowa.
