Here is Odie’s story, in the words of his rescuer:
“Odie was pulled from a West Texas shelter when his time was almost up. He had been beaten up by his kennel mate when first entering the shelter and has several superficial wounds on his head, throat, and ears. He was covered in ticks.
“He is referred to as a Cowboy Corgi. It seems that Texas likes to breed corgis and heelers for some reason. They are especially popular with feedlot cowboys. Odie appears to be a corgi/red heeler cross to me.
“Odie needs help getting brushed up on his health and ready for a home. Neuter, vaccinations, HW test, preventatives. Because he was covered in ticks, he probably need an ehrlichia test as well.”
It turns out that Odie has ehrlichia, and getting rid of that, once it’s entrenched, can be difficult.
CorgiAid supporters are helping Odie as he fights for good health, so he can wag that tail into the happy life he deserves. Thank you!
Odie was rescued in Texas.
