Louie

Here is the beginning of Louie’s rescue story, in the words of his second rescuer:
“Louie was found crawling around in grass and gravel at a home when animal control was called out about a lab that had been dropped off. The AC officer was a corgi owner himself, and when the homeowner denied that the corgi was hers, he called Chris, a local rescue person. Chris took the corgi to our vet.
“Louie was so starved, his sides were caved in. Most of his fur was missing from fleas, and his underneath was bright pink from urine scald. But when they put him in a tiny cart they have at the clinic, Louie took off walking and running everywhere.
“He has a happy, perky attitude and doesn’t seem to notice that his back legs are paralyzed. He has an outgoing personality and will roll up to strangers to greet them. He’s good with children and with other dogs.
“He was a picture of neglect….probably years of not being cared for. But he is a poster child for CorgiAid. Louie had no one, but thanks to CorgiAid, he is covered from the bordetella vaccine in his nose to the cart that supports his back legs, as well as several medical problems in between. He needs a t-shirt that says ‘Your CorgiAid Dollars at Work’.”
Louie moved on into a rescue that has a super record for placing special-needs dogs.
Here is Louie’s continuing story:
“UPDATE: We got a call, asking if we would take this boy into Rescue. We met at the Palmetto Corgi Picnic and he arrived in the Holy City on May 16.
“Louis touches the hearts of everyone that meets this boy..the eternal optimistic, happy , solid , steadfast and true. My vet wanted to adopt him;however with new baby, 2 labs, it would be crowded household.
“Who couldn’t love this Face?”
Who, indeed?
CorgiAid supporters have helped Louie with his medical expenses to date, and he is now running around in a CorgiAid cart. Thank you!
Louie was rescued in Tennessee, and then was fostered in South Carolina.
