The Story of Mai

Last Updated: May 31, 2015

Here is Mai’s story, in the words of her rescuer:
“Mai was discovered by rescuers working two different rescue operations on Mai’s street. While in the neighborhood they spotted Mai, rail thin, missing patches of fur, and dragging her left leg. So they called me. The owners, unable to provide her with the care and attention she needed, agreed to surrender her to my care. When I first met Mai, she was covered in fleas and ant bites, was dragging both back legs, looked to have serious skin problems, had no water, and was generally suffering from being a neglected outdoor dog.”
Thank goodness this kind Samaritan stepped up to help Mai!
She is doing MUCH better! CorgiAid supporters have helped Mai begin on the path to health and a happier life. Mai has had a consultation with a specialist about her mobility issues. Surgery was not recommended. Mai has regained about 80% mobility in her rear legs, and with rest and therapy, it is hoped she will do even better.
She is starting to grow her hair back, and is seeking people for comfort and petting.
Thank you, CorgiAid supporters, for helping Mai get the care she needed!
Mai was rescued in south Texas.
