Here is Hazel’s story, in the words of her rescuer:
“Hazel found herself in the care of a woman(the deceased’s daughter) who did not want her after her owner passed away this year. I was contacted about her and was able to go get her. Upon getting her back home, it is obvious the previous owner did not take proper care and she is struggling with skin and weight issues. She will need vet attention and a thorough evaluation to decide best course of treat for the skin condition and to check that there are no underlying issues.
“She was fed regularly everyday a diet of canned cat food and a bowl of milk-bone dog treats. She was and still is overweight. She is being slowly switched over to a better food source. The daughter also was angry at the amount of hair and shedding Hazel did, so she had her teenage son shave her with electric clippers, very poorly. Despite all of this she loves people and wants to be with someone always. She would be an excellent companion for a knowledgeable low-activity corgi owner once her health concerns are dealt with her.”
CorgiAid supporters are helping Hazel recover from her poor diet and lack of care. She is working on getting to a healthy weight, and on being less itchy. Thank you!
Hazel was rescued in Michigan.
