Here is Loretta’s story, in the words of her rescuer:
“We received an email asking for help with a little corgi that had been found in a rural area and was covered with stickers. The good Samaritan that contacted us believed she might have been dumped. We used every resource we knew of to try to find an owner (in case there was an owner looking for her). No one ever contacted us. We have no idea what her past was like, but her future will be great.
“She is sweet as can be.
“No spay scar could be found. We needed to get her spayed asap. Her initial exam showed that her ALT level was elevated and it was recommended that she be tested again when she was spayed. She had a cut on her foot that looked infected, mouth that needed to be cleaned up, and a broken canine that needed to be removed. With no history, we went ahead and vaccinated her. Luckily, she is negative for some of the nasty stuff.
“She will need to go back for a recheck to make sure that an oronasal fistula has not developed and that the cavity is healing properly.”
