This is Ducky’s story:
Ducky was found on the streets in a large Texas city and taken to the shelter where she was never claimed. It was evident that she’d been loved and cared for during her life. The vet believed that she’d had issues her whole life. She was diagnosed with a Redundant Tracheal Membrane – the vet described it as: “Think of your first car, maybe and old jalopy, where the lining on the roof of the car is flopping down. The car’s roof structure is intact, but there’s something there that shouldn’t be in the way.” Sadly, due to this condition, she doesn’t have long on this earth, perhaps six months to a year. She is happy, curious, and has a good quality of life right now and will need to be cared for in a hospice home until it is time to set her free.
