The Story of Ami |
Last update 07/21/2023
Ami had a rough beginning. She lived in 4 different “family member” homes before a “friend of the family” saw her and took her in. She had her about one week when Ami took ill and knew she couldn’t take care of her. Corgi rescue was contacted and she was surrendered. The family thought she was 4 or 5 years old, but she was determined to be at least 10 years old. Unfortunately, Ami was not spayed, she had a mammary tumor and needed dental work. Ami had tests, vaccines, and preventative maintenance. She was spayed, had her teeth cared for and the tumor was removed. Her prognosis is good as the tumor was completely excised with clear margins. There was no sign of it metastasizing. Ami is still active and should enjoy a few more years with quality of life.
