The Story of Tyler

Last update 03/19/2023
Tyler, a one-year-old, was surrendered to rescue by his owners due the new baby in his home having severe allergies to his fur. Upon coming into rescue, it was found that Tyler had a large growth on his neck, and his collar was saturated with blood. The growth was infected and emitting a strong odor, and he needed medical attention as soon as possible. He was also found to have some moderate orthopedic issues causing him pain in his hips. Thanks to your donations, Tyler was neutered, had a dental cleaning with x-rays, the growth was removed from his neck and sent out for histopathology, his nails were trimmed again, x-rays of his hips was performed, and he was prescribed an antibiotic as well as trazodone to keep him calm during recovery. Due to the removal of the growth on his neck, he could not wear an e-collar or other device to keep him from licking his sutures on his belly. Tyler also received the remaining needed vaccines. Thankfully, after testing, the growth was found to be a histiocytoma, it was completely excised, and no further treatment is needed.
