Archie

Archie came to rescue through no fault of his own. His original owners (in their 80’s) had him and unfortunately their health began to fail, so they gave him to a cousin. She adored him, had him about 4 months when she fell and broke her hip. She could no longer care for him, so the original owners contacted rescue to take him. Archie’s breeder was contacted to see if he could go back to them, but sadly, they wanted no adult dogs in their house and said they could not take him. Archie was not neutered and was a cryptorchid, meaning his testicles had not descended and his neuter would require a more complicated procedure. He also requires routine tests, vaccines and preventative care. He tested positive for a low titer for Valley Fever and will be retested within 3 months to determine whether it has risen and requires treatment. Archie is high energy and never learned boundaries or how to “settle” in his previous homes. Both homes tried, but he was too much puppy for them. Obedience training, as soon as he is healed from his surgery will be next for him. He is doing very well in his foster home and luckily his foster “sister” loves to have a youngster to run and play with.
