The Story of Lizzie

Last Updated: January 03, 2010

Rescuer: Jim Morrisey at jmorrisey1@comcast.net

Here is Lizzie’s story, in the words of her rescuer:
“Lizzie came to rescue from the shelter. The shelter felt she was unadoptable due to her poor eyesight. She appeared to be suffering from chronic diarrhea and was treated on her first day in foster. During the first week in foster she developed aspiration pneumonia and was treated again. She initially weighed 14 1/2 pounds and gained weight to about 15 1/2 pounds but then subsequentially lost weight to eventually fall below 14 pounds despite feeding her 4 times a day. We had her tested for EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency) and with the enzyme supplement she gained 6 pounds in first month of treatment. She also takes a B12 shot one a week.”
CorgiAid supporters will help with the expense of getting Lizzie diagnosed, and with the expense of caring for her pancreatic insufficiency. Thank you!

This dog is available for adoption. Please contact Jim Morrisey at jmorrisey1@comcast.net for more information.
