The Story of Lola

Last Updated: March 23, 2010

Unfortunately, not every rescue story has a happy ending.
Lola came into rescue with dirty teeth. Unfortunately she also had pancreatitis. Here is her story:
“Lola came through her dental with flying colors. She went back to her foster home the same day. Two days later she started with vomiting and diarrhea. We immediately took her back to the vet. He diagnosed Pancreatitis. We immediately began to treat. Our vet told us that she had a good chance because we caught it early. Lola stayed at the vet’s office. Our vet went in and checked on her during the night. She was doing fine. The next morning the techs came in Lola was fine. They took her out and fed her the special diet. She ate and drank. Our vet checked on her and, again, she was fine. Less than fifteen minutes later she was dead in her crate. My vet told me and the specialist at MU Vet School told me that this isn’t unusual with the disease. We were all devastated, especially her foster mom!”
CorgiAid supporters will help with Lola’s final expenses. Thank you.
