The Story of MO

Last Updated: November 15, 2010

Rescuer: Walton Salley at salleyw@bellsouth.net

As much as we all wish that every rescue story could have a happy ending, that is not reality.
“Mo was a quiet, little girl who looked like she had just come from the groomer…gorgeous light red coat. She was deaf, her head tilted to the rite(vestibular disease?) which made her more endearing. She was picked up as a stray and noone had claimed her…amazing to me in rescue in that she was spayed and heartworm negative at ~ 10 yrs old. Everyone wants a “puppy” and seniors are so hard to place, but they are my favorites. I took her to my vet yesterday,11/10/10 and had high hopes that we could address severe gingivitis which seemed to be the main issue…until xrays and blood work were done. Chas Animal Society had noted on their paperwork mitral regugitation and heart murmur. My vet did bloodwork and sadly Mo was in renal failure and congestive heart failure. My vet shared that renal failure is very painful and Mo’s quality of life would worsen. I had another vet that I use come today and we sent Mo to the Bridge..she is buried here with my others at Walmarsh and was shown love at the end.( There was NO charge for euthanasia)”
CorgiAid supporters helped with the expense of Mo’s diagnostics. Thank you.

This dog is not available for adoption.
