Here is Ruben’s story, in the words of his rescuer:
“Ruben was sent to auction in Missouri by a breeder in Kentucky. A basset rescuer was at the auction to save bassets being sold. When she saw Ruben come up for bid and no one bidding on him she bid $5 to spare him from being euthanized after the auction. She then contacted me to see if I would take him in my rescue which he is now in foster care.
“Ruben is very timid.
“Ruben is petite, weighing only about 18 pounds but he is very handsome. He will need a patient owner who will be willing to let him grow at his own speed.”
