The Story of Patrick

Last Updated: May 31, 2012

Rescuer: Jessica Logan at information@corgirescuestlouis.org

Here is Patrick’s story, in the words of his rescuer:
“Dumped at the home of a 95 year old legally blind lady who was feeding him and providing bedding for him in her garage. After two weeks of not being able to find him a home or find the owner, we were contacted for help. We were unable to find an owner after speaking with all the vet clinics in the area as well as the local shelters and humane societies. There was no microchip or id tag.
“His Petfinder bio…
“Dear Patrick has definitely been down on his luck but must have just found a four leaf clover that is changing his luck to GOOD! Patrick was apparently abandoned. With great effort to find his owner we have concluded that Patrick does not have anyone looking to reclaim him. Without hesitation the Faery Tails crew is getting Patrick’s health needs addressed. No more fleas, ticks or worms for this fine fella! Patrick’s x-rays revealed that he has most likely been hit/run over in the past by an automobile. He has damage to both rear hips/legs.The orthopedic consult brought us to the decision to have Patrick’s bad leg removed as it was painful for him and also useless to him for getting about. Patrick’s surgery went really well and so has his recovery. We are very pleased at how good a patient Patrick has been. He is getting about fabulously on three legs…much better than he did with four! Patrick would very much enjoy a home where he can be a big part of the family both indoors and tooling around with his people in a secured yard. We also feel that Patrick wants to be an only dog. He tolerates other canines but does not enjoy having them around. If you feel this handsome fella would be a great addition to your family please send an application for consideration of adopting this good boy.”
CorgiAid supporters have helped with the expense of Patrick’s medical care, so he can go forward and lead the happy life he deserves. Thank you!
Patrick was rescued in Missouri.

This dog is available for adoption. Please contact Jessica Logan at information@corgirescuestlouis.org for more information.
